Domaine du Mont d’Arbois

An exceptional resort

A unique resort at the heart of the Alps

The Domaine du Mont d’Arbois covers 450 hectares in the French Alps at the heart of unspoilt countryside above Megève. It is surrounded by stunning landscapes in an impressive setting opposite Mont Blanc.

Created nearly a century ago by Baroness Noémie de Rothschild, the Domaine du Mont d’Arbois has been the symbol of an exclusive lifestyle for three generations. It is an iconoclastic vision of the hotel business and luxury in which one of Europe’s most prestigious financial families receives its guests with simplicity, elegance and discretion.

It is also a symbol of the family’s local commitment with projects intended to develop and promote the region.

From intuition to reality

First, an inspired idea. That of Baroness Noémie de Rothschild. In the early 1920s, this very energetic person was in charge of many charitable works and was looking for a place to relax in the Alps. She dreamed of a simple, intimate winter resort. She discovered the village of Megève, which was little known at the time, and decided to open a resort there. The Baroness opened the first hotel in 1922. Her intuition was spot on: Megève quickly gained an international reputation.

Today, Benjamin and Ariane de Rothschild have transformed Mont d’Arbois into a hotel group with a range of hotels, restaurants and recreational mountain activities. They are personally involved with the resort and have preserved the authenticity of the site by bringing in local artisans and promoting local architecture.

My grandmother Noémie de Rothschild had marvellous intuition when she discovered Mont d’Arbois. It’s up to us to keep her heritage alive, while always staying a step ahead.

An important relationship

The quality of the reception at Mont d’Arbois is not left to chance. It symbolises the relationship with others that is so characteristic of the Rothschild family in its financial dealings and philanthropic, cultural and sports commitments: a simple relationship built over time.

Knowing how to receive means knowing the customer, their tastes, their personality and their family; creating bonds to turn every meeting into a memorable experience; inviting everyone to return to a place where people know you and you feel at home.

The Rothschild family’s approach applies both to people and to regions. Its commitment has never weakened in Megève. Consistency has provided the Mont d’Arbois landscapes and Megève with flourishing and well-balanced development that is both respectful of the area and of its Haute-Savoie heritage.

The Rothschild signature encompasses our concern and consideration for our clients’ wellbeing and beyond, to women and men, cultures, know-how and geographies.
